4:19 Care Kit "Take It Home" Event

What is our topic and what are we doing?

Our topic will be HIV/AIDS.  We’ll be partnering with World Vision to take a small, yet significant step in loving the people most affected by this pandemic.

Why are we doing this?

AIDS is one of the greatest humanitarian crises of our time.  Caregiver Kits are a tangible expression of Jesus unconditional love for those suffering from AIDS and an encouragement to those caring selflessly for neighbors and loved ones.

How will we be loving the people most affected by HIV/AIDS?

4:19 students, parents, and leaders are being invited to partner with World Vision to equip and encourage community volunteers caring for those living with AIDS in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.  We’ll do this by raising funds to stock Care Kits, then also donating our time to assemble them.

What’s in the Care Kits and how much do they cost?

The kit contains basic items – such as soap, latex gloves, cotton balls, etc. – that are inaccessible or unaffordable for the people who need them.  All donations, both large and small, help provide Caregiver Kits that will enable caregivers to love hurting people in their communities.  The kits cost about $28 a piece.

Who uses these Care Kits?

World Vision trains local volunteers to administer basic health care in communities that don’t have easy access to a doctor or hospital.  The Care Givers visit the homes of people who are in desperate need of care due to having HIV/AIDS.

How can I participate?

Sign up for this two-part “Take It Home” event (Sunday, March 14th @ 6:00 PM & Sunday, May 2nd @ 6:00 PM) on line (bottom of this page) or at the VictoryPoint Info Desk.

On March 14th we’ll watch a video from world Vision that provides testimonies from people in Africa who have been positively affected by these Care Kits.  Most importantly, we’ll share with you the way in which 4:19 students, parents, and leaders are going to partner together in raising funds for, purchasing, assembling, and shipping the Care Kits.

On May 2nd we’ll reconvene and assemble the Care Kits as a way of actively helping and loving those who are affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
