These creamy and rich truffles are delicious any time of year. The recipe pairs well with Virginia Red Dessert Wine from Rappahannock Cellars and appears in this full episode of “Un-Wine’d,” which airs Saturdays at 1:00 p.m. on VPM PBS.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 lb chocolate chips
  • 14 ounce can sweetened, condensed milk
  • 1 stick butter
  • Microwave-safe bowl

Directions

Step 1: Place all ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 2 minutes on high in the microwave. Then stir.

Step 2: If chocolate is not fully melted, heat in 15-second intervals until all ingredients can be fully incorporated.

Step 3: Stir well until the mixture is smooth and shiny. Let it cool and then scoop by teaspoons into small balls.

Step 4: Roll each ball and finish as you desire with chopped pecans, confectioner’s sugar, cocoa powder, dipping chocolate, sprinkles, etc.

Makes approximately 24 truffles.
