Of Booger Beetles and Fecal Shields
Sometimes topics for VPM’s “What’s Bugging You?” radio show were inspired by comments and suggestions from listeners. Case in point, a neighbor of Entomologist Dr. Art Evans shared a photo of a strange looking beetle resembling a crusty bit of mucus. Science Matters is a multi-media educational initiative of VPM, Central Virginia’s PBS & NPR stations. Through our “big loud voice” of Radio, Television and the Web, we strive to inspire our community to value science and to understand its importance to our future. We couple excellent national PBS and NPR content with compelling locally produced segments which feature community partners involved in exciting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) activities in Virginia.
