Why Do Bats Argue so Much?
Communication is so important! Consider for a moment how valuable it is that we have the ability to communicate with one another? These exchange of thoughts have helped us build the world around us and will continue to be vital as we explore the rest of the universe! Humans are just one of the millions of animal species on Earth. Other animals communicate too, but we still know very little about what their chatter translates to. A recent study tried to solve a piece of this big puzzle by studying the chatter of bats and they found something pretty remarkable.
About Science Matters
Science Matters is a multi-media educational initiative of VPM, Central Virginia’s PBS & NPR stations. Through our “big loud voice” of Radio, Television and the Web, we strive to inspire our community to value science and to understand its importance to our future. We couple excellent national PBS and NPR content with compelling locally produced segments which feature community partners involved in exciting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) activities in Virginia. Our community outreach events and our new Science Matters Community Events Calendar are additional vehicles for engaging audiences of all ages in ongoing discovery and exploration of all things science.
