The Richmond Ballet will present the classic story ballet “The Sleeping Beauty” with the Richmond Symphony February 9th through 11th in the Carpenter Theatre at Dominion Energy Center. The ballet features Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s colorful score, along with choreography from Marius Petipa with staging by Richmond Ballet Artistic Associate Malcolm Burn.

Malcolm Burn stopped by our WCVE studios along with conductor Erin Freeman to discuss this production, which is a two-act version of the ballet “appropriate for even the youngest of audiences.” Children from the School of Richmond Ballet and the Richmond Ballet outreach program Minds in Motion will be featured.

Enjoy our chat and get more information on the performances HERE.
