WINGS, "A Chamber Musical" at the Firehouse Theatre
WINGS is a musical adaptation of the 1978 play by American playwright Arthur Kopit. It originated as a radio play, part of an NPR drama project titled “Earplay.” The work follows the central character Emily Stilson and her recovery from a debilitating stroke.
The Firehouse Theatre production opened February 15th and continues through March 10th. The show stars Bianca Bryan as Emily. Bianca is the Funding Credits Announcer here at WCVE and a classically-trained singer. She stopped by my classical show with WINGS Director Kerrigan Sullivan and Music Director Kim Fox to chat about the production.
Performances continue through March 10th, with the composer in town to do a post-show discussion on Thursday, March 8th.
Yours in good music,
