The Tesla Quartet Talks About Their Debut Album

Photo: Dario Acosta

The award-winning Tesla Quartet released their debut album this fall on Orchid Classics. It features performances of Ravel’s String Quartet in F major; Haydn’s String Quartet in C major, Op. 54, No. 2; Stravinsky’s Concertino for String Quartet; and three works by Ravel arranged for string quartet by Tesla violinist Ross Snyder.

The quartet recently sat down to chat with me about how they came together and what has inspired them over the years. Listen in as I talk with violinists Ross Snyder and Michelle Lie, violist Edwin Kaplan and cellist Serafim Smigelskiy. You can hear sound clips from their debut album here.

Yours in good music,
