The Richmond Symphony is concluding their 2021-22 Masterworks concert series this weekend in the Carpenter Theatre at Dominion Energy Center.  Music Director Valentina Peleggi will lead the orchestra in a performance of Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the Richmond Symphony Chorus.  The soloists are soprano April Martin, mezzo-soprano Stephanie Foley Davis, tenor Rodrick Dixon and bass-baritone Damien Geter.

The program also includes works by Valerie Coleman and Joel Thompson.  I had the pleasure of discussing the upcoming performances with Valentina and Joel, and I hope you'll be able to come out and hear the season finale.  Performances are Saturday evening (5/21) at 8pm and Sunday afternoon (5/22) at 3pm, with pre-concert talks one hour before each concert.

Yours in good music,
Mike Goldberg
