The local ensemble RVA Baroque is presenting a "Baroque for All Celebration" this weekend (July 15-17) in various locations across Richmond.  It's a three-day community music festival, with engaging and eclectic programs.  RVA Baroque is our local period instrument ensemble, and for this weekend project they are collaborating with Capitol Opera Richmond and the Latin Ballet of Virginia to perform Claudio Monteverdi's "The Coronation of Poppea."

Artistic Director Raphael Seligmann joined me for a preview of this special weekend celebration.  He brought along Karine Marshall, President of Capitol Opera Richmond and Christopher Swanson, who will direct and conduct the opera performances.  I hope you find our discussion enlightening and have the opportunity to check out some of the events.

Yours in good music,
