Get swept away on the musical river

guitar and water shimmers
There’s a primal force at work with the mighty rivers...

I hope you will join me on John’s Porch this Sunday, September 11, from 10:00 until noon, as we pay tribute to The River in music. There’s a primal force at work with the mighty rivers, and there is something magical about the smaller ones that has attracted artists of all types since the beginning of humankind.

Music is no exception.

In the first hour, we have music from the likes of Trampled Under Foot, Charlie Musselwhite, Minnie Driver, Jesse McReynolds, Billy Burnette, and so much more. I think you just might get swept away with all the great music we have lined up for you.

In the second hour, we have music from Alison Krauss, Maria Muldaur, Lyle Lovett, Delbert McClinton, Van Morrison, NRBQ, and more.

You won’t want to miss a minute of this fun show.

If you haven’t visited John’s Porch yet, I hope you will give us a listen Sunday morning, it’s a good way to start your day. It’s a mix of styles and you’ll often discover that you like a song from someone you never listened to before.

That’s this Sunday, September 11, from 10:00 until noon, and we’ve saved the best seat for you. I will be glad to have your company if you care to join us. You can find us on one of these great VPM Stations: 93.1 and 107.3 VPM-Music and 88.9 HD2, Richmond, and streaming online at VPM.org.
