Meet the Hosts of The Art Scene
Roscoe Burnems is an award winning spoken word artist and educator, born and raised in Richmond, VA. He is a National Poetry Slam champion, Underground Poetry Slam champion, 2-time regional poetry slam team finalist, and multiple local poetry grand slam champion. Roscoe has published 3 recognized collections of poetry and has been published in a dozen literary magazines and journals over the years. When not competing or touring he is conducting writing and performance workshops for schools and nonprofits in RVA.
Noah Scalin is creator of the Webby Award winning project Skull-A-Day and the collaborative science fiction universe & performance art project League of Space Pirates. A native of Richmond, Noah’s fine art has been exhibited internationally, including installations in Times Square, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Mütter Museum and multiple solo exhibitions in Krause Gallery in NYC. The author of six books, Noah holds a BFA from New York University’s Tisch School for The Arts.
Bianca Bryan is an accomplished stage and screen actress. A graduate from the Manhattan School of Music in Vocal Performance and Brooklyn College with a Masters in Fine Arts, Bianca is an award-winning theatre actress with lauded performances in musicals, comedy and drama. She has been nominated numerous times by the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle for her leading and supporting roles on the local stage, winning Lead Actress in a Musical for Wings at the Firehouse Theatre in 2018.
Haliya Roberts is a native of Central Virginia and a graduate of The Honors Acting Conservatory at Theatre Lab School of the Dramatic Arts in Washington, DC. She began her theatre career in the DC Metro area and now resides in the Richmond area where she continues to perform on stage and in film/television. Haliya was center stage for the first Women’s Theatre Festival in Richmond as the lead actress in Pretty Fire, a production of the 5th Wall theatre and written by Charlayne Woodard.
