American Dream: Shomi Patwary and Family
Shomi Patwary came to the United States with his family at the age of eight. They had a good life in Bangladesh. His dad was a banker, his mother a housewife, but something pulled them to America. Shomi’ s Uncle, a successful Doctor, loved it in the United States; he sponsored the young family to come here. The appeal of the American dream, spoke to them, and they wanted to know what it was about. With $200 his family took a leap of faith and found great success. Shomi is an example of this. He is one of the most sought after directors in the industry, collaborating with Will Smith, The Clipse, Rick Flair, the Migos and Beyoncé just to name a few.

Homeless Senior Citizens
Find out how the Daily Planet & Senior Connections are trying to help the vulnerable senior, homeless population. While homelessness is decreasing across many age groups, it is experiencing a spike in the Richmond area and beyond among senior citizens. Expensive healthcare costs often mean people lose their homes at this vulnerable time in their lives.

Pediatrician That Makes House Calls
Virginia Currents follows a house calls only pediatrician as he treats young patients where they’re most comfortable -  at home. Dr. Jimmy Wiley started this practice on wheels two years ago to offer families a better patient experience. He says he gets to know them so much better and can offer around the clock care.
